The missile safety system provides centralised control of aiming unit trigger circuits and laser transmitter circuits during missile firing practice sessions.

 

In addition, bi-directional voice and video communication channels exist between the Equipment Safety Officer (ESO), located at the firing position, and Chief Safety Officer (CSO), located at the command position, up to 500m away.

 

The CSO controls the Chief Safety Officer Unit (CU) which is linked to the Equipment Safety Operator Unit (EU) by cable or RF link.
