The central building block of Shrike’s VEPMS is the distribution unit (DU).

This is a compact digital system providing distributed DC power to localized equipment saving space and weight. The standard CAN V2.0B interface allows easy integration with a vehicle’s existing CANbus.

Multiple DUs are placed in convenient locations throughout the vehicle and controlled either from a central touch screen connected to the power management CANbus or from mechanical push buttons distributed within the vehicle. 

 

This simplifies installation by greatly reducing number of wires necessary, harness complexity and weight, and contributes significantly to cost savings and platform volume reduction.

Power input to the DUs can be from either single or multiple DC busses.
